Have you heard the news? INK Book Gathering is closing the storefront. What? Yeah, it’s true. I hear people ask every day, “How do you do it? All the good bookstores seem to be closing.” And, we have worked hard to keep the doors open for all of our bibliophile friends.
INK was always a haven for book lovers: stacked shelves with great reads, quirky signage, and of course our cat, Inky, to curl up with. Many nights here, the air was filled with original spoken words, poetry and song. Wee hours were filled with the sound of fingers furiously flying over keyboards as authors penned novels in November. Children laughed along with story time and intellectuals pontificated on ideas ranging from the profound to the profane. It has been an amazing ride.
Unfortunately, the fires in July had far reaching effects, leaving us without the means to limp through the cold lonely winter months. So, INK is going into hibernation.
You’ll still find our great books for sale online, and we’ll continue to bring you fun book porn (posts, quotes, reviews, information and inspiration) here and on facebook. You can also keep an eye on Inky through his facebook page, “Inky” Inksworth von Fluffypants of Zanzabar.
Please visit us if you can before the end of January. We would love to see you. We’ll keep you posted on all things INK and with any plans to reopen come Summer. It has been a great joy to share INK with you all; thank you for being part of my dream.
